About the center
The Jeselson Center for the Study of the History of Israel in the Light of Epigraphy at Bar-Ilan University was founded in 2000 by Dr. David and Jemima Jeselson. The purpose of the center is to support a variety of activities related to the study of ancient Israeli history in the light of epigraphy. The center's activities include supporting the publication of books and preparing research for publication, editing and translating them, providing scholarships and research grants to outstanding researchers and students, documenting, photographing and drawing epigraphic addresses and preparing them for publication, organizing and supporting scientific conferences and seminars in Israel and abroad, supporting and distributing dissertations And in the treatment of archeological finds and their preparation for publication.
The Jeselsohn Epigraphic Center for Jewish History supports a variety of activities that touch upon the research of Jewish history in light of epigraphy. Activities of the center include the giving of scholarships and research grants to researchers and students; photography and illustration of inscriptions and epigraphic finds and their preparation for publication; researchers’ travel expenses to and from scientific conferences; salary expenditures; support for scientific conferences and workshops; support in the translation and editing of research articles for English publication; support in the publishing of MA and doctoral theses; computer equipment as well as the support with the processing and attending of artifacts and their preparation for publication.
